The project involved construction and fit-out of the stages administration building at Paraparaumu School to deal with weather tightness issues within the existing building. During construction challenges such as poor ground conditions, time restrictions, budgeting restraints and working within an occupied environment was encountered Impact was able to navigate these issues and met the opening deadline prior to the schools 125th anniversary.
This environment required a unique approach to traffic management and health and safety protocol. Extensive planning, risk controls, programme monitoring, stakeholder management and regular communication ensured that students, teachers, construction workers and all other users were safe and as unaffected as possible. This ongoing supervision was applied to all aspects of the build to maintain construction timeframes, the client and stakeholder’s expectations.
Completed within budget and programme the re-build of Paraparaumu’s school building has proven a success in the integration of dynamic environments and fixed programme to produce an exceptional leaning environment for the school.
Approaching the build with a pragmatism which flows right through the project, their raft of experience is clear. Through well established modes of practise and communication protocol they were able to maintain tight time and budget controls effectively.
